One of my most memorable engagement shoots ever. :) We had tons of fun! It was adventure to find nooks and crannies around subic where we could possibly shoot to our hearts' content. The weather was an answered prayer...we had awesome blue skies! And considering it was a Saturday, there were only a few tourists at that time in Subic! Andrew and Jules were a joy to direct and they eventually felt comfortable as the day progressed. Oh Jules is already into her 4th month of pregnancy (di halata noh? hehe) during this shoot and the only thing she requested not do was to jump. But for the rest she was game. Will post the behind the scenes pics of this shoot! Fun!!
To Andrew and Jules thanks so much for a fun day, accommodating us and smiling all throughout the shoot! Thanks also for super filling our tummies the whole day! ^_^ hihi.
Shot with Tin Espinosa for Imagine Nation Photography. Good job tin! thanks for the help! We were assisted by Marjun who again was a hit for our couple haha. Let me share some pics during the day. Exactly one year a go I shot my first wedding. (february 24 2007) I could still recall the awkwardness I felt and how super shy I was during the shoot! I was baptized into the world of wedding photography and I didn't know what I was doing! :) haha! That was the day I met Erron and John J for the first time. I certainly learned from them and carried them on my future shoots. I honestly wanted to quit afterwards.. for I felt so unhappy with my shoot! I had a long talk with God in my quiet time and decided to approach wedding photography through His eyes and with His strength..:) And after 1 year of shooting.... I am just so thankful for all the blessings and all the couples I have met.. each wedding was certainly memorable and there is always something new to shoot. :)
I just want to share 50 pics from my past and recent weddings. I fixed them up for our portfolio for the studio when I remembered that it was my anniversary of shooting today. :) so yey! happy anniv to me! haha labo!
enjoy! :)
I met Carlos back in a wedding fair in PICC several months back. I was just starting out then and he booked with me! Amazing! Time seems to travel so fast and now I shot their wedding! :) It was my first time to shoot at Coconut Palace and my first time to shoot a kalesa as the bridal car! :) The family of Cheryl was so funny, warm and accommodating! I really felt we were part of the family and not as the photographers. :) Her mom was the best! haha! Was always game for a pose and was the so ecstatic the whole time! Even lifted her robe for a pic..ayayayay! Too bad I wasn't able to come and visit Carlos and take pics during his prep, but Erron took care of him.
It as also my first time to shoot a sunset wedding, and God gave an awesome sunset backdrop during the ceremony. The weather perfect and it was one memorable wedding for everyone. Carlos cried during his vows to Cheryl and he made the people laugh when he said "Hon, let's go home."
Indeed they would be going home forever together. :)

We set this prenup before hand and I was praying that the weather would improve. I never shot a prenup in bad weather before and I was half worried about it. In the morning it rained! I said erks and sighed, then it shined! Weird weather we're having lately. I had my one on one with Jong at the studio and presented my works before we left. Hydes and Ipe came along and we were laughing all the way. hehe! We asked Jen and Aaron to tell us about their love story and they have the funniest proposal I ever heard! I shall quote Aaron, "O ayan kunin mo na yung singsing sa bag!" (after coming from an overseas trip) hehe!! It was interesting to know that Jen was 4 years older than Aaron. We had burger kin g for take out along the way and their large drinks pala are really LARGE. We didn't get to finish them!
Anyway, it started to rain as we neared clear waters.... I was really silent for a bit. I was thinking ahead of that to do. I had to be quick and was limited by the impending rain. It was really a good thing that Aaron and Jen were game for anything!! hehe!! I thank them for being patient and their willingness to do our crazy poses hehe!! Towards the end of our shoot, the rain really poured! And we found ourselves stuck in the tents area of clearwater that had cute indian designs. First time i saw the inside of those things. hehe! We had a few pics inside and used the tents as backdrops.
On the way back to manila, I was not satisfied with the pics I took, parang kulang.. then we spoted Boom na Boom sa Clark!! The flashing lights caught my attention. I asked if they were still game for one last stop and they were! haha! First time to shoot inside a carnival! hehe! Good thing the management allowed us to shoot for free! yey! :D We ended the night by having dinner at nearby Gerry's grill in SM Clark. We feasted on good yummy sisig, pusit, and kangkong! Listened to 80's music on the way back. hehe
Truly one unique engagement pictorial! Eventhough it was raining, we had a sunny shoot! :) PG!
Shot with Hydes and assisted by Ipe the "ninja" and master lightman hehe :D

" What is gold? What is precious? What is beautiful? What is unique? What is special? "
Hahaha these lines from the looping avp stuck with
me while shooting the launch of Donna Karan's new perfume. It's main fragrance is derived from Casablanca flowers that apparently are Donna's favorite.
There are are two versions of the perfume. One is Eau de Parfum that costs like around P5450 for 100ml. And a lighter version (eau de toilette) that costs a bit cheaper.
Trivia! Eau de Toilette translates to Toilet Water... haha! Did more research over the net and here's what I came up with:
Q: What’s the difference between Eau De Toilette (EDT), Eau De Parfum (EDP), and Eau De Cologne (EDC)?
A: Interestingly,
the French to English direct translation for Eau De Toillete means
toilet water, which does not make much sense. The main difference is in
it’s concentration. Eau De Parfum has the strongest scent of them all,
followed by Eau De Toilette and Eau De Cologne. Most fragrances found
in Singapore are EDTs.

Perfume oil is necessarily diluted with a solvent because undiluted oils (natural or synthetic) contain high concentrations of volatile components that will likely result in allergic reactions and possibly injury when applied directly to skin or clothing.
By far the most common solvent for perfume oil dilution is ethanol or a mixture of ethanol and water. Perfume oil can also be diluted by means of neutral-smelling lipids such as jojoba, fractionated coconut oil or wax. The concentration by percent/volume of perfume oil is as follows:
- Perfume extract (Extrait): 20%-40% (IFRA: typical 25%) aromatic compounds
- Eau de Parfum (EdP): 10-30% (typical ~15%) aromatic compounds
- Eau de Toilette (EdT): 5-20% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds
- Eau de Cologne (EdC): 2-5% aromatic compounds
As the percentage of aromatic compounds increases, so does the intensity and longevity of the scent created. Different perfumeries or perfume houses assign different amounts of oils to each of their perfumes. Therefore, although the oil concentration of a perfume in Eau de Parfum (EdP) dilution will necessarily be higher than the same perfume in Eau de Toilette (EdT) from within the same range, the actual amounts can vary between perfume houses. An EdT from one house may be stronger than an EdP from another.
Furthermore, some fragrances with the same product name but having a different concentration name may not only differ in their dilutions, but actually use different perfume oil mixtures altogether. For instance, in order to make the EdT version of a fragrance brighter and fresher than its EdP, the EdT oil may be "tweaked" to contain slightly more top notes or fewer base notes. In some cases, words such as "extrême", "intense" or "concentrée" appended to fragrance names might indicate completely different fragrances that relates only because of a similar perfume accord. An example of this would be Chanel‘s Pour Monsieur and Pour Monsieur Concentrée.
Eau de Cologne (EdC) was originally a specific fragrance of a citrus nature and weak in concentration made in Cologne, Germany. However in recent decades the term has become generic for a weakly concentrated perfume of any kind.

Ok
so now you see that am trying to have a productive morning. hehe! The
event lasted only for a few minutes, I do not kid you! But the feasting
of the cocktails lasted longer! haha! I was literally full to the brim!
Awesome food provided by The Cookery.
Here are some people pics:
We went to Baguio, an enchanted forest, a lake and the beach all in one day! :D
Joke! :D hehe.
These are all taken in Clearwater in Clark. I shot with Arlene and we were assisted by Ronnie. Tommy and Aida were really kinda hard to make kulit and Arlene and I tried our best to let them have fun during the shoot.hehe! Surprisingly we had the whole place to ourselves on a sunday! great! We kinda got lost on the way back and found ourselves at Sm pamapanga..O_0 woah. hehe! We managed to find our way back eventually and had a lovely dinner. Arlene got to chat with them about work stuff and interestingly we got to chat about products made in china, vietnam.. etc.. HAHA! anyway! They're getting married on December 2 :) Advance Congratulations!
This was my second time to do a wedding in tagaytay. Out of town
weddings are always a treat. :) We breezed through highways and got to
tagaytay in an hour! We headed for Discovery Country Suites (http://www.discoverycountrysuites.com/main.php)
for the preps. It was a beautiful, cozy hotel with a magnificent view
of taal lake. I loved the rooms! The first thing I noticed about Candy
and Lance was that they were tech geeks! Evident by the PSPs they had.
I guess it helped them to relax during the preps. We had a fun
atmosphere shooting. hehe I cannot forget the moment when a grasshopper
stuck to Jong's trousers... I was about to take a pic of it..
when...Jong jumped! HAHA!! I didn't know he was freaked out by insects!
haha! Roger had to remove it for him. (may pic ako nun! hehe) I loved
the souvenirs of the couple and the bridal car was a classic white jag!
What a beauty!
Once again Ms. Madge did her magic and made Candy
shine for this special day. Candy kinda resembles Angelu de Leon! (hope
i spelled it correctly) The ceremony was held at Chapel on a Hill. I
love this church! It's small but its intimate and provided the perfect
atmosphere for a wedding.
For the in between we drove to a
nearby open area for a quick pictorial. I found it funny that a couple
of curious cows passed by during our shoot. hehe couldn't resist to
include them in a picture! Check it out!
Afterwards we trooped
down to Splendido for the reception. The clubhouse there had a
Mexican/Mediterranean feel to it. :) We ended the night with a
fireworks display. I must say it was a simple, elegant and fun wedding.
